It’s no secret that we love quilts in all shapes and sizes – and there is certainly a place for large quilts (after all, they’re the only ones that will fit queen- or king-sized beds!). But at the same time, larger quilts have their drawbacks – the piecing takes longer, they’re harder to quilt, and they use substantially more materials. Perhaps the reason that these quilt tops linger in the UFO cupboard the longest is because once we’ve finished large quilt tops, it feels like we’ve already run a marathon! In this issue, we work through making large quilts more manageable with a goal to more finished quilts … because what’s the point of having a cupboard full of unfinished ones?
