The quilt finishes at a charming 35” square, making it a perfect baby quilt or wall hanging. But don’t stop there! Kristy designed this pattern with options in mind—you can easily add more blocks to increase the size, making it as big as you need. Materials You’ll Need
Here’s a quick rundown of what you’ll need to make this quilt:
- Fabric: 5” x 5 ½” squares of fabric in 45 different prints for the background, or 5” x 22” rectangles for each star (nine total).
- White Solid Fabric: 1 yard for the stars and 12” x WOF for the sashings.
- Grey Fabric: 10” x WOF for the binding.
- Batting and Backing: 44” square piece each.
- Kristy used ¾” spaced straight-line quilting to finish her Catch a Falling Star quilt, but feel free to get creative with your quilting. Free-motion quilting would look just as stunning and give the quilt a different texture.
